Love the special meaning behind your wonderful LO. That is a great photo and your flowers are really nice. You are very brave and sound like a great strong monther. fav
Wow Ruby I don't know what to say - this layout is so personal and without reading the story one would never know. Thank you for sharing your courage and your determination. Such wonderful lessons for your son! And Congrats on the house!
Thank you for sharing your story and your philosophy. Congratulations on your house! This is a beautiful layout- your son is lucky to have such a focused and positive family.
This is absolutely breathtaking and I love the story behind it. I love your "Resolve" to teach your son that he can overcome any obstacle! Thanks for digging deep and sharing this with us. I know it must be difficult for you to share something so personal but I truely believe that this is what scrapbooking is all about! Hooray for our Imperfect Lives!
Very cool that you are scrapping this because these are the types of things, good or bad, that make us who we are!! So glad things are working out for you now!! Well done on this layout!!
thanks ladies. I appreciate all the really nice comments. Its been a long struggle and I know a lot of people go through hard times and survive and I want my son to know that it's possible and not to feel like a victim of circumstances and just have that drive to rise above. I know that these experiences are apart of me, but I don't want them to define me. I now know why I'm crazy! I hope I don't seem ungrateful, I seem to make alot of jokes about all of it because its easier than crying to me. Thank you again for allowing me to share my stores and I've been enjoying hearing for your stories. Have a great week everyone!
Beautiful layout but the explanation makes it even more beautiful - it is such a success story. Good for you and your family and how sad you had to go through such a trial!
Wonderful story and layout! Congrats on your long journey. Isn't scrapping wonderful that way. It helps us remember, tell our story, vent, clean out the cobwebs and start fresh! So glad the kit came at a perfect time and provided the perfect "Escape"!
This pic of my Dad and son Andy was taken in Sept. 2007 when he was just 11 months old. This year, I trying to do more pages that deal w/ some of the family issues we've been going through and to let Andy know that even though things have been a struggle, my main focus has been health, happiness and stability for my family. At the time this pic was taken, my family (me, DS, DH, parents and my younger brother) had been homeless for 6 months when our apt. building had been sold and we were forced to move w/out warning. I'm doing these pages now, so he knows that if we want something bad enough, we work for it and that no matter what happens, he is loved and taken care of. Its been 5 long yrs, but in 2 weeks, we move into our first house!
I made this page using the Jan. Scraps of Darkness kit, "Escape". Even the name of the kit is perfect! It was like this kit was perfect, even down to my Dad and son's matching collared shirts!! Even the tags under the pic have special meaning and are perfect. Thanks, Mel!!! There's a little tab on the side of the pic to let you know that if you left the pic, there's hidden journaling. I will be posting more details about this layout on my blog this coming weekend.
