The SS Jeremiah O'Brien is one of the 2 surviving Liberty Ships that launched during World War II and has been totally restored remaining historically accurate. It is a living museum on the National Register of Historic Places and a National Historic Landmark. The O'Brien is moored at Pier 45, Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

After meeting up with Pat (Greenwood Farms) and her husband Tom and saying our good-byes Grant and I took some pictures with my brand new iphone x of various sights, including the ship and I love how I was able to capture it through the arch. The arch was built in 1915 and was originally a ferry dock, the ferries also transported prisoners bound for Alcatraz. The ship never carried passengers, only the crew.

I never noticed the ferry arch when our family toured the ship last year because we went onto the wharf to board the ship. When we toured the ship Grant was particularly interested in showing us the engine room which was where he he worked when on the destroyer John A. Bole and his submarine the U.S.S. Mariano G. Vallejo.
