The male Herons come back every spring to this same area in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park near our home. They start building the nests, and the females return about two weeks later. They then lay their eggs and both parents incubate them. By Mother's Day the babies have hatched and you will be able to see them in the nests from the ground. They will have left the nests by the Fourth of July. The frames and label are by Katie Pertiet. Thanks for looking
