That is a pretty rough shade of green! LOL! But hey - you got to use these awful colors afterall! So no shame! lol! Great journaling for some not-so-great paper. DYING to see what you come up with for all of the owls! LOL!
I was NOT expecting this!!!LOL!great journaling and pose!!!your honesty is admirable...especially to us newbies who are still trying to get it right!Remind me not to get into one of your challenges....I'm afraid the prize will be "owl" stuff!! :O LOL
OMG, this is PRICELESS!!! Perfect pic and yes, these papers are really ugly...but good for you for not throwing them out! Thanks for making me smile :D
This is great...despite the fact that you think these colors are hidious, you've managed to make a beautiful layout from some less than desirable papers. In my opinion this is pure genius. To me this is really what scrapping is all about...creating works of art from either pictures or papers that are less than perfect and transforming them into a masterpiece. By the way you could have made a christmas layout and know one would have been the wiser.
hee, hee!! i love this idea! i know i could definitely do a lo along these lines (probably more than one!) but i doubt that will stop any of us from buying more, more, more paper!! it's just too much fun! :o) tfs!
This is hysterical!! I hear ya, I have some ugly stuff lurking and sniffing around my little pretties too. Geez I hate to waste money on stuff like that! Great job on the LO!
oh my goodness! this is tooo funny. love the story. love the fact you scraped it. It will show your kids your personality. You got those two to work together so stand up and take a bow. great job on this
You did such a great job putting these papers together I had a hard time believing they started out as something to be ashamed of. Fabulous journaling and LO.
Terri, this is the cutest! And you made the paper look good! Love the LO, original, "coming out of a paper addicted person" Love the journaling! You did a fantastic job!
LOL.. first I love this lo and the journaling.. HAHAHAHAHA we all think that about something scrappy we have bought.. but really, that lime green looks great with that red! really I love this....
You did such an awesome job on this LO that the paper doesn't look so bad after all!! Great job!!!! I really love your "shameful" story, and the pic is awesome!!!!
This is awesome. You make this look like everything came in a ready made kit just for this challenge. I have no idea how you pulled off these two matching so well but you sure did. I love the design, the stitching and the pic with the journaling is great!! Awesome LO!
Terri THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the pic w/the journal-it really tells a good story. u made these 2 papers work, I don't know how u pulled this off but this amazing!!!!! love all the flowers and the stitching! this is great!!!!!!!
OMG, your journaling and that pic are hysterical! Actually, I love lime green so I'm diggin' that paper...and from this view (granted a not-in-person perspective) it really doesn't look bad. Well, at least you can laugh about it (hopefully you're laughing...I am). The design of this is great. :)
THis is my ugly paper layout for the Scrap Happens Critique group. My partner chose the ugly red and yellow checkerboard and the geometric lime green papers as my two to work with. Journalling reads:
"Yes, this is me hanging my head in shame. I can’t believe that at some point, I actually paid money for these papers. And yes, I did buy them myself, they were not gifts, they were not on sale, they were not free give aways. In my defense, the putrid green was part of a stack of paper that I purchased on Ebay the first time I started scrapping 4 years ago. The psychedelic red and yellow….well I am just dumbfounded. How I ever purchased this is beyond my comprehension. In fact, I can’t even look at it, because the pattern makes me dizzy. I must have been very sleepy or unaware the day that I used my hard cash for this piece of crap! I like to think that I have learned my lesson and now only purchase top of the line, design friendly paper. Time will tell. For some reason I have lots of paper right now with owls on it….have I used it? No. Will I regret the purchase in another 4 years? Hopefully not!"
