I initially wanted to use this sketch to color the pieces so they could look like ceramic tiles but today I could not recall the details of the technique from the recesses of my mind nor from my computer..so I experimented for a while and determined that when I did this years ago I had a different tool than I do today…so I put that idea aside.I tested some inks and decided that I really preferred Brilliance pearlescent sky blue over the distress inks. I started cutting the overall piece and my cutter broke. Grr-I know my backup cutters do not cut with precision and bad cuts will show up quickly on this layout. My aim quickly moved from perfection to wonderful. New plan…I stamped this Penny Black background stamp. Drew in cut lines with Scorepal to leave indentations. I left the image in place on the Scorepal and colored in the valleys with narrow tip of distress pen (broken china). I prepared acetate tag stamp with HA sentiment stamped with Stazon and painted the edges with Pearl acrylic paint. After dry tied onto ribbon and adhered tag with Therm O Web invisible vellum adhesive runner. Not perfect but wonderful for I know my friend will appreciate a handmade card from me at this difficult time. And I happy that I was able to continue to think through alternative creative options to complete the card today so I could get it mailed immediately.
