I loved the inspiration photo and tried to capture the feel of all the texture and lines that piqued my interest. I added lines and texture across my background with brush strokes and selected an image with lots of background lines. I mimicked the trailing geranium by adding the raspberry color in opposing corners and encouraging the red ink to flow off the paper in the lower left corner.I started with bright distress inks on my mat and cover my background. To tone down the colors to be more like the inspiration photo I painted the background with watered down gesso. The focal stamp by Magenta is one I used for my watercolor challenge and wanted to try Daria's suggested method of inking the stamp face-up. It is a much faster and successful method of using this technique.Heidi, thanks for the beautiful inspiration.
