Made for the December 2 page sketch competition.
This was taken down in the city before Christmas when we had gone for our annual city lights tour.
The journaling reads:
Wednesday 20th December was such a crazy mixed up day! We left at 7.00am to head to the city for SantaLand – Christmas Wonderland – and got stopped on the mountain by a crash that closed the road. After 20 minutes we decided to circle back and come down through Werombi – another hour to my trip. We got to where the website for SantaLand said the event was happening and it was actually back at Homebush – another 30 minutes through traffic! By this time the temperature was already 40 degrees and we were all hot and bothered. We piled out thinking this was going to be awesome and were sadly let down!
Climbing back into the car we went all the way to the city for the second time that day and parked the car for the afternoon. It was 45 degrees and so hot. We finally got a cool breeze and the rest of the afternoon became one of fun and frivolity. Doug had come for a Price Christmas and had ended up with disaster after disaster until we all got the chance to cool down and enjoy all that Sydney offers at Christmas time. Under the tree at Martin Place he bought these Reindeer antlers to give Beth! We all had turns putting them on and fooling around. By this time Doug knew it was a photo or have me nagging so he put them on for this shot! Admittedly he had his eyes closed but I think it was his way of pretending it wasn’t happening!
Beth, of course, rocked the look and the rest of us were too busy laughing at each other to be taken serious. It was a fun interlude and many people around us were joining in with our fun laughing at our antics. This was the Christmas fun that I wanted Beth’s boyfriend to witness and he good naturedly joined in. I think I am starting to crack his serious and solemn exterior!

I used the scraps from my previous layout. I need to do this more often. New Year's resolution! Papers are close to my heart - my reflections.
