This is my friend and next door neighbor D. My nickname for her is "Little Miss Sunshine"! She's the happiest, sweetest child I've ever met, besides my own! She is best friends with my 12 y.o. son who says he's going to marry her someday! Well, for now they are just great friends, but I'll accept her any day! Even the dogs love her! As you can see she is an expert belly rubber!
Shes so special to me because when she comes to visit and the kids are not home she still wants to come and visit with me! Never thought at 45 y.o. I'd have a 10 y.o. as a very special friend!
This pic was taken on a very special day with D. She came to tell me her Daddy was "going to be ok" after a very risky surgery that took days! We celebrated with lemonade and Oreos. It was such a happy visit talking of her memories with her Daddy and upcoming Girl Scout camp and school. She even stayed for pizza and a movie! I'll never forget that happy visit!
But, I'll also never forget visiting her yesterday and having to say "I'm so sorry your Daddy had to go to heaven so soon". We are both talkers and usually talk up a storm. But, on this visit we were speechless. Hugs and tears had to say it all. I tried so hard to be strong and not cry but that was impossible when she reached for me knowing I'd understand how very special her Daddy was to her and how hard this day was.
We share the good and the hard with special friends. We are heartbroken for her and family. I've been wanting to start making cards and I've decided to start with D. I'll scrap a special pic of D. and kids and Katy Girl doggie.
