I like your take the lift with the clock and flourishes. What a great idea to scrap/document the good and bad times. I had a co-worker that fostered troubled kids and eventually adopted a 12 y/o girl. It takes very special people to do what you're doing.
way to go for being a loving being to help a child with reactive attachment disorder. How disheartening that may be at times, but looks like you know where the value is- in long term love and connection.
You are a great fostercare Mom it takes lots of love and time to make them feel love again after so many people have let them down in their young life. My Mom and Dad was foster care parents for years. My little brothers never left but they couldn't be adoped their really parents would not give up their rights.
You've taken on a tremendous task with these broken kids! We were treatment foster parents for six years, so this page strikes a chord with me. So beautifully done! I hope he can grow past all this someday with your help!
Kudos to you!! I too have been there, seen it and done it, and believe it or not I have not one gray hair on my head!!!
Cute LO, and I love what the clock says! So, so true!
What a sweet LO and a great topic to scrap for the future! Years from now he'll look back on this and go 'what was I so upset about?' But your sweet and touching journalling will be there as a reminder. Great title and great quote! Fab page!
It's so hard to scrap those "not so happy" moments. You've done a beautiful job with this topic, and I'm here to tell you that your attitude will make all the difference in his life. Hugs to you - it's a tough job you've taken on with this calling.
Oh wow.. that brought tears to my eyes!! This is so touching. I am sure it will have different meanings to both of you.. what a great way to document progress! This is awesome!
This is a lo that you may wonder WTH? Well, the hidden journaling on the back reads: When I took these pictures you informed me that I was the "meanest mom in the whole world". It's a good thing I took all the training I could to parent children from the foster care system. I took these pictures for a reason. I knew I needed to document these moments so that some day you would be able to "use" them as evidence that you ARE making progress. Reactive Attachment Disorder and trauma have made your life sooo much harder than I would've ever imagined. It's hard to sit back and watch you make the choices you do and let the pieces fall where they do. I can't "fix" you. (I didn't break you) I can't "make" you change. (YOU have to WANT to) BUT! I can LOVE you. I can SUPPORT you. I will STAY by your side, even when you push me away. Because I KNOW that's what will make a difference in your life.
The title on the clock says Remember, Success is not always what you see.
