Fun times. Great page. Sounds delish. I grew up with meat pies Mom called Pasties. Crust folded into a semi-circle, filled with the week's leftovers and crimped around the edges. I can still taste them. Yum.
Of course you learned about these in NH. The French Canadians make toutiere (ground pork instead of beef). I love that you included the recipe and your good journaling.
Boy, I wish I had a husband who liked to cook. I hate to cook and would love to turn it over to him. He does cook on Tuesday...he asks where I want to eat out! Great layout.
Every year we make 10 meat pies to freeze and go thru the holidays and winter. With all the family here for the holidays, they didn't last long. My hubby was having fun cooking the first batch of mix. I never heard of them until I moved to NH, and my loving Mother-in-law taught me how to make her Canadian version--yummy!!
