This LO crosses three challenges:

-August Page Maps Etc: Sketch 4
-August Monochrome: School Bus with the Twist
-ABC (GHI) Challenge:
G: The flowers are glimmer misted (hard to see). I also happened to find a word sticker for the word sparkle. My Mom absolutely sparkled that day (more on that below).
H: Handwriting: The title is my handwriting (see below), as is the journaling.
I: Journaling reads: "It will be eight years that you've been gone. IF ONLY I could see you again."

This is the last photo I ever took with my mom. It was on her birthday, September 29, 2003. My mom lost her eye, cheekbone and sinus due to an infection she'd undergone from chemo. She had finally gotten her prosthetic eye, and we went on her birthday to have her makeup done. She looked amazing. Then we went for Thai food and our waiter snapped this photo. This coming Tuesday will be eight years since she passed, and I wanted to scrap about it. This year has been really hard for me for some reason.

I used my Silhouette for a lot of this. The title is actually my handwriting, which I scanned in, "traced" with the Silhouette, and cut out. The stitching template is from the silhouette store -- I need to figure out how to make these because the results are much much better than when I use my Sew Easy. The side border was also cut with the Silhouette.

I found some Prima "Scrapbook Jewelry" in my stash that I'd bought on clearance at HL. I cut it apart, and inked and misted the flowers to make them more in line with the tones of the LO. (They were a beautiful ivory on a beaded ribbon -- gorgeous, but too wedding-ish.) The flower background is a Fancy Pants transparency, which was the perfect outline for the flowers. I placed the Primas over blue flowers on the transparency. NOTE: I tagged the transparency in the Superstore and it says "Purple Flowers". The flowers are more of a brown (I was actually surprised they were labeled "purple"), especially against the yellow background CS, so I think I'm safe in using the mono/neutral palette.

Whew, that was long-winded. Thanks for looking! :)
