<p>I miss this car! I love my minivan too (which was what we got to replace the Focus) but I really do miss zipping around in my little compact car! ;) I had fun making this LO and it was nice remembering all the great times. My title was created in Microsoft Word using Word Art; many thanks to the lovely Pea who helped me format it! :) The tire tracks I made by inking the wheels of a toy car and running it over my page. :) I printed directly on the cardstock, the license plate sticker, and the little tag. <p>Journaling: It was sleek, sporty, and stylish. And it was red – sangria red. It was a sedan, but it handled like a sports car. The bucket seats sat 4 people comfortably, yet we were able to take advantage of compact car parking, and maneuver easily through heavy Houston traffic. It was the base model, fully loaded with all the options, and still cost $1,000 less than the “plain” top model. It had a deceptively spacious trunk, and amazing gas mileage. It was brand new at the dealership, not even test-driven. Zipping around town in my little red car, I felt like a million bucks. That car was our first major purchase as a married couple, and we brought our first baby home from the hospital in it. We knew that it would not last forever – in fact, we had always planned to trade it in at 100,000 miles. But knowing that didn’t make it any easier when the day finally came. By April 2004, we had logged 96,000 miles, and it had always run like a dream. Interest rates were good, and we’d been toying with the idea of car shopping. And then it started shaking: at idle, in low gear, the car would rattle and vibrate, and once it actually died and refused to restart. Then we knew: it was time. So maybe it wasn’t entirely scrupulous to sign the title transfer that we knew of no major mechanical problems with the vehicle – of course we had our suspicions, but since nothing was ever diagnosed by a mechanic, we could legally claim ignorance. It’s not my proudest moment, but there are choices you make when your back’s against a wall… Turning the key over when we traded it in was harder than we’d expected, and I think that both Chris and I felt like a little piece of us went with her that day. 4.28.2004 <p>The text on the license plate sticker just lists various features about the car. The little tag says “$17,163.04 - the price of love.” lol <p>Materials: paper, Bazzill, KI Memories; stickers, Sticker Studio; font, Moderne; stamps, Making Memories; ink, ColorBox; embroidery thread, DMC.
