Brandy, Sounds like you are a very strong gal, being able to do what you did on Father's Day. Take baby steps, day by day, everyone grieves in different ways and time. Don't let anyone tell you to buff up and get on with life. Yes, you are going on with life, that is necessary, but take all the time YOU need. I've lost both parents and a husband, and one is not harder or easier than the other, just different. You are in my prayers. Oh and I love the tribute you made to your dad.
This is beautiful, and such a lovely and thoughtful gift to give him! So sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you, and I hope you were able to seek joy with your family yesterday. Huge hugs!!!!!
My dad passed away two, no three, years ago. I'm 60, but it's still hard to lose your dad no matter what your age. I'm so sorry for your loss. You're fortunate to be able to still go and "visit." My daddy is in Arlington National Cemetery in Virgina - which is half a continent away from central Oklahoma. But, as I'm sure you've found out, he's still with you in spirit every time you remember the best advice he ever gave you or the words he said to you when he tucked you in at night. All you have to do is talk to him. He'll still hear you, and if you listen really hard, you'll hear him back. Your father's day gift to him this year is very special. Time will help soften the edges of your grief, even if it can't mend the hole entirely.
This is so heartwarming and a wonderful gift you created for him. So sorry for your loss. I truly am. Lost my Dad in 2011 and still each Father's Day and his Birthday is hard. I just lost my Mom in February and I still cry every day. Will pray a special prayer for you.
I am wishing you well tomorrow and sending you lots of hugs. You know your dad will be looking down on you and will be proud of this sweet remembrance to him. Hugs!
Oh Brandy, I am so sorry & firsts are so difficult. Just remember, he knew how much you loved him. This is so lovely & creative, made me think of my dad who has been gone for about 10 years, always miss him!
This is beautiful. Hugs Brandy Lynn. My dad has been gone 18 years. We still miss him. We still celebrate his birthday. The kids love using his day to talk about all of the things he did with them.
Tomorrow, Father's Day, is the first since I lost my dad. I couldn't imagine not making a card for him, so I did, out of polymer clay and a sealant to protect it. I will bring this, and flowers, to his grave tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be so difficult (like every other day!), but I am going to do my best to put a smile on my face and celebrate with my father-in-law (a wonderful man) and family... When dad died, we found in his dresser drawer all the cards, letters, and trinkets that I had ever made for him. I love and miss him more than words could ever express.
