Now a little about this layout, here I have used a background paper from the kit with a poem from my Mum(Helen whom kit named after)and in this journalling I mention her sewing on a Singer sewing treddle machine. You see I grew up at one stage on a block of land out in the bush(100 acres)Australia, Victoria. Very pretty block of land and we had no power for a fair few years there. Yes you heard me correctly no power! That meant no TV, no electric lights all gas lamps and slow combustion stove. Every morning we had to light it for warm water to wash with and to heat milk for our weetbix. I remember my Mum singing away with made up hymns while making us these pretty lacey dresses on this old sewing machine treddling away with her foot peddle making lot's of dresses for us four girls and all of our dolls as well! I learnt to sew using it too and loved making skirts, it had the same relaxed rythmic feeling I suppose as spinning wool or turning pots on a wheel. This place was where my love of faeries was born! We had a fern covered creek babbling through the property and little blue tailed wrens flittering in and out of the grassy buttercup banks, if you sat really still you would be guaranteed a visit from a wombat walking by. I can honestly say I had the most magical upbringing ever( I won't mention the hard chores though)we made little fairy houses out of moss and paperbark, little twigs and paths were all made in an extravagant fairy village. You see we had to make it the best place any fairy would love to call home. My younger twin sisters would wait with anticipation for fairies to show, sometimes I think they realy saw them all around they would giggle so.
Thanks for looking
