amazing idea and wonderfully done page. wow, im just in awe of this unique page. my kids had zillions of books and i sold them at a yardsale and should kick myself for doing that. what i would give to have them now... AMAZING LO ;)
I think it's GREAT! Not to complicated visually, and the books do stand out from the background. And the heart is awesome! I wouldn't worry about adding an 's'. The idea of a picture with Zoe reading is a great idea, on a second complimentary page. It's ... just... cool!!
CHT: Zoesmun, The subject matter of this is awesome. I like the way you did the title and I like the heart. I would add the "s" only because I'm a stickler for proper grammar. But sb pages DO NOT have to be that way. Just my thing. I'm with Deidre. The colorful strips behind the book and the colorful spines of the books are a little distracting. I would recommend taking another photos, perhaps from a different angle or with the books stacked on top of each to create another line. A picture of your dd reading would also be so cool. That was a great suggestion. I like the doodling on this page and changes or no changes, you did a great job!
For my eye the strips take away from the books. That's an awesome picture idea... I think if the strips were gone the books would be the main focus. It's just to confusing for my brain. I like the idea of a picture of your daughter reading...
Gareat layout for this challenge! I love the strips of paper and the ribbons and how it mimics the books. I think cause the black matting and the inking around the solid papers, the strips are perfect. Not too busy in my "book" (ok...pun intended!! lol!!) I like the title and the heart, too. I don't think it needs an s. I love the doodles in the corner, too. I think this came out great and perfect for the challenge! I would do maybe a 2nd page with pics of your daughter reading and similar papers.....but don't think I'd add her picture to here....just my opinion!
I think this turned out really cute. Love the pp strips, the inking looks great; the way you fanned out the cs behind the photo to mat it is cool; and the heart with the wire is awesome. Great job!
CHT: What a fun thing to scrap! I like the photo and I like the strips in the back that look similar to the books, but I think altogether it makes it a little busy. I would suggest toning one of those aspects down a little. Maybe either a B&W photo or more subdued strips in the back? I do like the strips and the PP in the back, though! Doodling is cute, too.
I think it totally works without the extra "s". Good for you, learning new things and taking the initiative. I really like the way you've taken the photo!
I think it's adorable. It's always hard to scrap outside your comfort zone. You did a great job. I like the photo a lot. The doodles are great. The ribbon strips go a long with the stack of books.
If I were going to add letters, I would skip the 's' and just write "loves" on the heart in your own writing. Otherwise I would leave it like it is. It's cute.
Well, I tried some more new things for challenge #7 - that's what these challenges are all about, right? I inked the edges of all the card stock, I "curled" wire, I made a little book with my journaling (the heart), and I made my own background paper (can't tell, but it is sanded and chalked a light green colour). I'm not thrilled with results, but hey - I learned a lot!! The photo itself is much better IRL - no flash flare, nice colours...
Oh, and please let me know if you think I should add an small " 's " next to the heart, or if it is OK without it...thanks!!
I have seen a number of LO that use the paper or ribbon strips in the background, but credit to *Kristine* whose LO was in my favs, and inspired me to on this one...
