I used Distress Inks on the background to tone down the white of the paper. On the brown strip behind the photos, I wanted the look of the rust/patina on the bell & the texture of the rocks in 2 of the photos. I tore tan cardstock, and then inked it with various brown & green Distress ink pads (I forget exactly what colors I used) before adhering it to my background paper. For the journaling strips, I punched one side of a piece of white cardstock with Fiskar's "Threading Water" border punch, then printed the journaling on that & cut it into strips. I stamped the title right on the layout.
