I used a technique called Bargello. You place one half inch strips on a sheet of sticky paper. I used a 8.5 by 11 inch. Then you cut the paper into one half inch strips again going the opposite way you laid them down. Then I staggered the strips onto another sticky paper to make it look like a weave. Next time I will use quarter inch strips for a more intricate detail.
