lovely job! the papers are beautiful and that's a nice photo. Kids certainly do have to face too much, too fast, but it sounds like he's doing a great job.
For the October Lyric Challenge and No Spending Challenge
Journaling reads: JR – at just 13 yrs old, you are already facing some very difficult decisions. We were so shocked when you told your dad and me that most of your friends and teammates have already offered you alcohol, are bringing drugs to school, and even having sex. We are so proud of you – the fact that you turned them down, the fact that you don’t want to go to their homes anymore because it makes you uncomfortable, and even the fact that you talked to us about it. I love that you even told them that your parents would lock you in your room if you ever did anything like that. You didn’t succumb to peer pressure, and you didn’t just say “No”…you stood up for yourself and for what you thought was right. It used to be that joining sports would keep kids out of trouble, and now it’s your football and baseball teammates that are the ones who are first forcing you to make these decisions. I’m so glad that you enjoy your youth group and are comfortable enough to ask questions about God and how to talk to him. I am proud that you are thinking about an afterlife and making your decisions based on that. I pray that you continue to do the right thing and I thank God daily for blessing us with such a great family. I’m proud of you son, you are becoming a fine young man.
On the pic are the lyrics for October Lyric Challenge - Garth Brooks' Against the Grain - it reads: What you see is what you get and that's the only way I know how to play the game...Old Noah took much ridicule for building his great ark but after forty days and forty nights, he was looking pretty smart. If you're gonna make a difference, if you're gonna leave your mark, you can't follow like a bunch of sheep, you have to listen to your heart.
