I love this effect. For the very shot time I had PS on my computer, this is what I was trying to do with my photo for my x-mas card. I got so frustrated. I ended up having my sons friend come over & help me. After I got the card finished, I took PS off my computer & went back to my MS Digital Image program. Some day I will attempt it again.
Pretty! How do you remeber what each technique is called and how do you remember how to do them from one time to the next? I have so much trouble with that! :(
Lesson 4 of the free photo-editing class. This lesson is about using a clipping mask. Frankly, I've been using them for nearly a year, so this isn't new for me, but we received a free mask with the lesson and that's what you see here.
**ETA** do you see the grungy edges around the photo? The clipping mask is what gives it that look - it is a grungy-edge rectangle to which I "clip" my photo (in Photoshop); the pic then takes on the shape of the mask.
Photo was taken by me on the shore of Resurrection River in Seward Alaska, July 3 2009
