Beautiful! The blue color is something else! And so cold feeling up near them! Dh and I cruised to Glacier Bay couple years ago and were astounded by the one we saw...the calving was awesome and thunderous!!
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Cordova Alaska, Childs Glacier sits at the edge of Copper River and is the most "calving-est" glacier in Alaska, dropping ice chunks of various sizes on the average of every 10-15 minutes. This portion of the ice is 300 feet high and approx .25 mile across Copper River from the viewing area, where we spent two amazing days, just watching the falling ice and trying to predict which section would fall next :) We took just a few photos, but about 20 video clips!
