oh my - was the winter that hard that they had to forage like that, or is it normal even for mild winters for them to eat the bark? You can see on all the trees in the background the damage that they did.

Mini: #19 Revolting Development

I was shocked today. On my first walk through my park this Spring I passed over 30 young trees that were eaten like this by rabbits and deer over the winter. Some of them were nearly eaten through and most will die. I wonder why the parks and rec. people didn't wrap them this year?
