He is a looker. I haven't seen any in the city that big. Is it about 30 -35 feet tall? Have the Gila Woodpeckers been out in your neck of the desert too?
I wondered what all the holes were far - I can't even imagine seeing a cactus this big much less having one where birds live in it! Very cool - thanks for sharing
Wonder how the birds choose their real estate on these? I'm surprised that there are holes in the undersides of the arms and even that low on the trunk.
This giant Suguaro Cactus is the biggest I've seen in our area. Each of the arms weighs hundreds of pounds and many birds live in its woodpecker holes. I do NOT want to be around if it dies or falls into the street.
