We call those Depression Forests in Michigan after the WPA planted row after row of pines. This is a great shot of it.

love how straight they are - someone just cut down two pines down the street, and boy does that smell wonderful as I walk past.

This area of the campground where we live is just called "The Pines" is smells so good there and has fewer mosquitoes and gnat as they don't like the area for some reason. We don't live in this area of the grounds but I love to walk there.
