I realize you can't really SEE anything in this photo but NO photo is worth crossing government property patrolled by armed men. So this the area where you drive through miles of NM with it all looking rather like this. It was here in 1941 the first A bomb was planned and in 1945 they exploded it. Then missile tests began to take place here and the space shuttle lands here. White Sands Testing ground is NASA owned, and is 3200 sq. MILES of NM. As you drive by you may see a black tower thingee and at one point you can look down on the huge headquarters. but don't even think of becoming a tourist inside the fence. LOL
