This is a lo about my son's first haircut. Such an experience with so many mixed emotions....

Thank you to Amy (outnumbered) for the inspiration.

Journaling reads: "Your first haircut was on March 19, 2006. We waited 15 months because we just couldn’t part with your beautiful baby curls. We loved to curl them through our fingers and when it was humid, they would turn into ringlets. But your first haircut was not only about saying goodbye to your baby locks. It was also, in some sentimental way, about saying goodbye to being a baby and growing into a little boy. All with one snip of the scissors. I felt my heart strings being pulled and I felt a sudden surge of sadness. But that was replaced by admiring just how handsome you were with your new “do.” You were such a good boy in the little driver’s seat in Kidz Kuts, you never even made a fuss at all. It was a big event for your Mommy and Daddy and we were just so proud of you. So with some excitement and a little melancholy, we mark our first haircut as a milestone and hope you don’t grow up too fast."
