2017 Pink Hammer Awards

There's a bit of a back story that goes with this - Before there were "Pink Hammers" there was a a "Gold Hammer" award that Ariel won in her construction class for being at the top of her class. In 49 years, a female had never won it.

Journaling:
From the beginning of the 2016 school year, Ariel knew she wanted to give her current and previous instructors Pink Hammer Awards. Even before she won the Gold Hammer Award, she started thinking about how to build the plaques. The instructors rarely had any girls in their classes in previous years so a pink hammer seemed perfect. In Spring of 2017, she presented her 3 instructors with the awards. They seemed really touched by the gesture. It was a sweet gift.
