I’ve always been an advocate of early detection, self-exams, and breast cancer awareness in general. Then in 2011 I found out that I was adopted, and I found out that the advocating I’d been doing applied more to myself than I realized. My biological grandmother Sheila, the lady in the middle of the above picture, is a two time survivor. It’s never too early to start checking.
