Journaling reads:
The last 24 hours have been filled with so much excitement… It all started around 9 a.m. on August 12th. Yes, on Dannica’s birthday. Daddy left for work as usual. I woke up fairly early because there was lots of planning left to do for Dannica’s big day. It seems you wanted to take control of the day, and you surprised us when my water broke shortly after daddy left. I was a little bit panicked and not too sure what to do. I started making calls. Daddy first, then the midwife, then memere. Daddy was the first to come home, followed shortly after by Nicole. She examined me and we determined that I still wasn’t in active labor and that I should continue with my daily events. And so we did just that. Memere came over to help with the preparations of our hopeful homebirth. And then we waited… By 2 p.m., still nothing was happening as far as contractions, so we went to the hospital for a non-stress test to make sure you were ok. Everything was fine and we were told to go back home to wait some more. We took Nicole’s advice and continued on with our day, unsure of what kind of surprise you had for us next. We still went out to the restaurant to celebrate Dannica’s birthday. Then we came home and all of our family came over for some birthday cake… All evening we waited, and nothing happened. The next morning, Nicole called us and told us we should go to the hospital to get induced, since you didn’t seem to want to come out on your home. In this photo, we had just arrived at the hospital, and they had me strapped in to all the monitors. We arrived around 11 a.m., and by 12 p.m., I was connected to the i.v. and labor was starting…
