I have a couple of art journals going, but this one is a combination art journal/smash book. I use it to experiment with different techniques and backgrounds, then I smash stuff on the finished pages.
I made this cover by attaching chipboard letters to the cover, then covering the whole thing with aluminum foil-working it around the letters and making wrinkles. Then I painted over the whole thing with blue acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I painted over the whole thing with black paint. Before it dried, I used a baby wipe to remove some paint, move some paint etc.
I dried that, then used my finger to apply a pearly silvery paint to the letters to make them stand out a little more.
Once everything was dry, I covered the whole thing with multi medium.
