I have a granddaughter who was not born to see or know her great grandmother. I made this Pocket Letter for her to add to her scrapbook . We are sharing pictures and stories of people in the family/her family so she can get to know something about her genealogy. This PL is about my mom and the things she did and loved to do while she lived. On the back are pictures that my granddaughter will cherish.
"Memories of Mama"...(starting at the top right corner).
Mom penned letters of love to each child as they grew up and moved away from home. She was instilling in us the need to stay connected during a time when modern technology had not been invented. Her demeanor was one of a quiet spirit until one of her children were being harassed. In essence...she could float like a butterfly but sting like a bee if you did something wrong to one of her children. She would either "shower" you with blessings and give thanks to God when she received some herself. Speaking of flowers, each spring and summer was a time that flower gardens were being made. Her favorite were tulips along with roses of all colors. She was an avid reader of the bible. Morning, noon and night we would always find her reading God's word and telling us about the stories she read about. She learned from her mother the act of "canning" during the summer. Anything along the lines of vegetables or fruit that could be put in a jar was saved. About twenty years ago, she gain her wings and left us behind to continue with her story. I'm passing it along to my grand child.
