Looks like you had fun with this and learned some new techniques. I am impressed and wish that I could do about half of what you did with this digi layout.
I really like this one. I think it would make a great intro page in a family book. Even if it doesn't have a specific theme -- soemtimes you just want to put some pics together!!!
This is something I have never seen and am fascinated by it! This is just incredible and shows a whole different side to scrapping (as I am not a digi scrapper). This shows how to think outside the box and give a different perspective. To me, this is art in how it should be---an expression. Thanks for sharing
I too found this really unique.I'm not a digi scrapper and is just working my way into photoshop and your lo is awesome and an inspiration. keep it up. tfs
I love this LO. I am not a digi scrapper, but love to see the many digi LOs posted on sb.com. This is one of the most creative and eye catching ones I've seen yet. I love the "moments" captured and the starkness broken up with the "painted" colors! Very well done.
Very creative LO. The stark whites emphasize the brilliant collors on the black. Very striking concept...and you had fun while learning. God bless all the colors of life.
WOW!!! again you have blown me away!!! I absolutely appreciate all the effort you put into your work and it pays off in awesome pages like this one...WTG!!
I like the techniques you used. I'm just learning Photoshop and it takes me forever to do anything on it... but I love the results! Your layout is so fun and active!
I think this is a greta one to put up for the challenge, we NEED to see different takes on the way a lo is put together, it speaks to me, it mah have consituted a little bit of a learning curve for you but you have definitely added an extra dimension to the challenge, I am not a digi scrapper but I love to see whats new in the digi world and you are one of the most creative on here so PLEASE keep up the fabulous work, I love to see your name on the forum lists as I know I am going to see a completely fresh and unique take on the challenge - sorry for gushing - I just love your work, TFS :)
I think it's awesome! It looks a little sci-fi maybe. I dropped this one in my favorites for later use! It looks like the subjects, black and white, are in a new world, color, footprints and shadows are in color! Extreamly creative! And yes it is a Great LO. As my art teacher once said "perfect for those who live life in color!"
I think it's fantastic! Very unique! I don't think I could have done it! I for one am glad you put it up for all to see! WTG! Great job on the challenge!
I love it!!! I can't even begin to imagine trying to do something like this...Yikes!
To me, it says alot. I think it's really 'outside the box' and for those that think 'outside the box' they will see it too.
Great job!!!
well actually it speaks to me! i think this is super cool, and i can hardly wait to show my dh!!!! he doesn't scrap; he paints (i know he is going to agree with me on the cool factor of this one). i love the look of the photos as sketches and the addition of the shadows-brilliant (sounds like it was somewhat involved).
I don't expect this one to speak to anyone. It really was just a technical exercise. I almost didn't put it up, but a couple of the digital groups wanted to see techniques like this. So...
I don't know what to say. I imagine this was technically challenging, as I would not have been able to do it. I like the ghost shadows under the figures and the color trails. On the other hand, it does not speak to me. It appears to me to be an exercise - something you did to challenge yourself or to learn a new skill. Maybe I would like it better if there was only one character on the layout, because now I find it hard to read a message in the lo.
So I was just messing around with some concepts and playing with photoshop here. In terms of LO's, pretty pitiful, in terms of fun things learned to do with photoshop, first rate.
I generated five color layers for this using a rainbow gradients and filters. Then started rotating, blending, etc. until I got five cool combinations.
Then created a photoshop action to convert images to grey pencil sketch like drawings REALLY fast. Did this on several cutouts from photo's of the kids and I.
Add pose, arrange, etc. Merged all the "sketches" into a single layer, cloned it, and added one of the color layers on top in color blend, then another in "difference" blend, until I had a "neon" shadow effect. Merged those into a single layer and then did a neat thing, by selecting eat individual "shadow" I could free transform it for the depth effects.
Next, a black layer over one of them. Using an eraser and my tablet for pressure effects on size, I drew the lines of circles, which are really erasing the black. Other ways of doing this, but this was fastest and easiest. Don't like it, brush in some black to fill it back in.
Finally added title, and a distressed "paper" overlay for the black areas.
