Using lists and symbols to tell a story is one of my favorite journaling tricks. When I don't know exactly what to say, I rely on the Top 10 List. I've done these for most of our vacations and it's always fun to look back at the little things that fade from our memory when the sand settles. Plus, it's interesting to see how as my son has grown up, his likes and favorites have matured right along with him.I started the page with this Placemat by Jillibean Soup. It gave me a spot for just about everything - photos, symbols + embellishments. To emphasize that this is a Top 10 page, I used a large number in the first square. Stickers in the shape of Florida and a large sun represent the ‘where’, while the wood people show the ‘who’ of the page. I added assorted travel flair to add a pop of color, dimension and shape. The title cluster uses my favorite brush script Thickers plus some sticker and washi to provide a grounding place. The pale gray cardstock includes our family's Top 10 list with all of the big and little things we loved about Marco Island. This page is the perfect round-up of our trip at a glance. It includes some of my favorite photos and memories with a pop of color and symbol.
