Our theme this month is a subject that I rarely scrap about - ME! Most of my pages focus on the kids in our family and things I want to remember about my son. I'm good about documenting his life, but not so much mine. I scrapbooked for 10 years before he was born and I think I might've burnt myself out on books about ‘me’. I started this page with the idea that I wanted to make a really large die-cut title using the Silhouette. I wanted to use a few key words that either describe me or the things that I love. That morphed into this 2-page spread with a title (that also stands in for my journaling) that stretches all the way across the layout. By keeping it almost all white on white, it makes a bold impact. The mix of pale grey words add a little dimension and interest to the big block of white. To offset the white, I chose the very colorful Pebbles line From Me to You. The bright aqua, pinks, red and yellows compliment the main photo and provide high contrast to the rest of the layout.I kept the border at the top layered and yet simple. Layers of boldly colored tags, frames and pre-stitched pockets frame some of my favorite black and white photos. I kept the focal point photo in color so that it would stand out from the rest. This layout came together really quickly. It was a good reminder to include myself every once in a while in the story of our scrapbooks.
