Blossom understood that her brother was at the end of his life. she had stopped nagging him to ply awhile ago. She let him rest and would often lie close to him to offer him comfort. I happened to have my phone by the bedside one night and was blessed to be able to preserve this memory.
Baxter was laying in his favorite bed and Blossom was close by. At one point he laid his head down on top of her head. She just stayed it was when I took their picture that Baxter moved his head some. It was such a sweet moment, Their love for each other was evident. I know she was comforting him as best she could. This picture was taken on 04/07 and on the morning of 04/10 we made the painful desicion to end Baxters suffering.
His Liver and kidneys were failing and we had done all we could for him. He passed peacefully at the vets office while my husband and I petted him and told him how much he was loved. I am glad that Blossom got to say goodbye and I know that Baxter knew how much he was loved by all of us. She was his best friend always there for him when he needed her. I cherish these photos of them together as it shows the incredible bond that they had.
