Oh my goodness - you can tell by looking at this how much time you put into your layout! And it paid off because it is super adorable!!! That stitching is gorgeous and just looks amazing!
This is a lift of http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/218495/view/2728281/-1.html for the June Scraplifting 101 challenge. This lo took hours and hours...mainly because of the stitching. I used a tutorial by Delaina Burns for the idea of using a border template to go around in a circle. I cut the biggest circle out I could with my coluzzle, then I attached the greenish orange circle to the blue, punched the holes, and stitched using 3 strands of DMC Light Effects white thread. It's safe to say that took 3-4 hours. Then I took my coluzzle template and centered it on each stitched scallop and cut a half circle all the way around. Then I used an embossing pen and red embossing powder to make the red outline. I used pop dots to attach it to the background pp for dimension. I used a candle border punch for the anchoring strip, and put a strip of red behind it so that it stood out. I also had to mat the "6" and the journaling strips in red because they were getting lost. I used the magic matter to get a good mat of the 6. After attaching the banner, I decided it didn't stand out enough, so I outlined it with the white signo pen. While I had the pen out, I dotted the red mat of the 6.
