Welcome to Memory Keeping Monday! I'm excited to share a layout with you this week. Our theme choices were ‘paints, inks, etc. and/or food/drink’….I did a little of both. To be honest I'm not a huge paint or ink user. So my first intention was to do a food layout..centered around cupcakes. But, as I was piecing my cupcake together I wanted to add a little depth to the pieces…and ink was the perfect touch. At first I thought I might add a little machine stitching to them, but they were too small for my inexperienced stitching techniques.:) So let's talk a little about this layout… This is one of those ‘special’ layouts. One you take a little more time with…not my usual cup of tea. But this was a special event that I spent a lot of time on, so it's only appropriate that I spend a little extra time on the layout. I'm actually thinking that I will display this layout for a while. Now, just because my layout took a lot of time doesn't mean that yours needs to. You could change it up to only have one cupcake, use diecuts or stickers instead, eliminate the stitching, etc. The majority of my time was spent with my Silhouette cutting the pieces from various patterned papers. I cut way too many…but I'm going to save the extras and use on cards…that's the plan anyway! Ok…I think I could write a book about this layout, but that's what the video is for…..Your CHALLENGE this week is to create a layout with a food/drink theme….favorite food, least favorite food, favorite restaurant, Thanksgiving meal traditions, girls' night out, date night, breakfast in bed, snacks you sneak…..I can't wait to see what you come up with ! Just make sure you check the right challenge box when uploading!
