I did these invitations for the manager's Christmas Party where I work. I wish the colors were more accurate. The background is midnight blue, the berries and holly are Christmas red and green, the hinges are metallic, inside is vellum.
Thanks to branbaucom for the idea and thank to TSC for starting the “Let's see those Christmas Cards” thread so I could find branbaucom's card!
I didn't have time to get a hinge die so I had to make do with QK mosaic tiles & metallic paper. It would have looked better with eyelets or something on the “hinge” but no time! The holly leaf is QK, the berries are Fiskars hole punch! TOO much trouble to do the berries with the QK die!
For the inside, I used clear embossing powder over the ink jet ink as the vellum came out the printer. Looks really nice in person. I used the Stampin' Up slit punch for the door closure. The door is NOT the AccuCut Zip'eSlim OR the Sizzix tag die. Instead, it is the AccuCut Doghouse DOORWAY! I just used the small cutting sheet over just the doorway to cut just the doorway out. It is ALMOST exactly the same size as the above mentioned dies.
The color of the cardstock wasn't what I had planned but since I wanted the heaviest cardstock, this is what I had and I think it turned out ok.
