The journaling reads You were not even two years old in these pictures swimming in the lake at Cowans Gap. The second we'd put your floaties on you wanted in the water and the shallow part was never good enough. You would run until it was too deep to stand and you'd lift your feet so you could float. You insisted on going into the deeper water so you couldn't see the bottom at all. You would throw a screaming fit if someone tried to touch you. You knew to hold your breath if your head went under and you knew to hold your head back to avoid getting water in your mouth. It was like an instinct to you so all summer long we called you... fish.
