Hi There! Faux envelopes are a great way to add writing space to a junk journal or mini album without adding lots of bulk. Here are two ways to use them in a junk journal or mini album.
Faux envelopes are pieces of paper folded to look like an envelope, but they open flat for journaling. Super easy to make. Just fold down the top two corners. You can pick any angle that you like. Next, fold up the bottom to just under where the corners are folded. Lastly, fold the top section down to form your envelope.
I used a piece of ephemera from the paper collection, but you can use a die cut as a closure. Just be sure to only glue the bottom half of the closure to the envelope, so the flap can slide under it.
In the first example, I slipped the faux envelope into a pocket I made from scrapbook paper.
For the second example I glued the right and left sides to the page forming a belly band, then slipped a couple journal cards behind it.
Both of the faux envelopes open, so you can journal inside them.
