A beautiful LO , and how amazing to share so many items you've received from scrapping friends. Love your story on the loose hinge and bit of wire.. We use the term 'they have a screw loose' or 'they're missing a few sheep from the top paddock'..
This is so stunning Melissa! Amazing way to show off all those trinkets and treasures from all your scrappy friends! Love the mystical beauty of it all~
don't know how I missed this, Melissa, except that I've missed everything lately! Love your layout, and she's a fascinating subject for sure. The textures are fabulous and I love the way you combined all the elements to flow together so well.
Hey Melissa! I forgot to keep an eye out for your LO so I'm late commenting. Love it! I scrapped this same photo a while back as well because it was so 'sixties'! I never posted it though. The year is 1902. WOW! Who would have ever thought that in 1902 they would dress up like this! Your layout is so awesomely vintage! The one I made is so 60's. LOL I really LOVE what you did with her! Great job!
A pretty, innovative presentation; soft, feminine colours - it's so cool to see all the embells from scrappy friends working so beautifully together here.
Wow Melissa! This is AWESOME!! Glad you could use a few goodies from me! :-) So much to look at! Love all the textures, distressing and embellies. Would love to hear the story about the model!
Very interesting photo. Will have to look her up and view her history. Love all the bling, metal, pearls, torn paper and wonderful design using so many techniques and embellies. You always put so much thought and interest in your work as it shows like Artwork. :)
WOWZER, this is GORGEOUS! The color combination is so striking & has a touch of magic to the lo. I love how your friends send you goodies to embellish your masterpieces. A wonderful image that brings it all together!:)
Wow Melissa this is jaw dropping gorgeous! I love the deep blue and black and all of the amazing goodies. I love it that you saved part ig a belt to use. Found objects are great.
Hi! Melissa here with a layout made with Gina's Lasercuts Designs.
I used our border as a stencil with texture paste on the paper and put gesso over the paste. Then I painted it with acrylics and lumieres.
I put a layer of gesso followed by acrylic paint on the chipboard pieces.
This is a famous model and actress from the early part of the 20th century, who has an interesting history. She had some problems later on in life and i unknowingly put a loose hinge at the lower left and a curled wire at the top. As in "she has a loose wire". This has never happened before in something ive scrapped . Its weird!
Iluvcats261 has several pages with Evelyn in her gallery, Thats what gave me the idea to do this lo.
There are several items here from my scrappy friends: From Abbygirl: irridescent sequins scattered around. From Eapipkin: a little butterfly on the left hand edge, and the black lace at the upper right. From LynnJ:a small metal flourish brad at the bottom. From Quick Silver: the diamond bling. From SheilaMarie: the idea to use the tiny seed beads at the upper left. I used the ones she gave me on a previous page. Then I searched through mine and found these. Also there's a small piece of trim between the two black pearls at the bottom from her. From 48SixTime:a small piece of black lace at the left upper edge of the pic, behind the black ribbon. The black wire and bead necklace at the bottom. From my MIL: the big black pearls are from a necklace. Ive used other parts of it in a lot of pages. From my sis: the oval tiger eyes at the bottom right. The metal thing at the right with the gold bling is from a belt.
There are more photos and close ups on my blog, Ribbons,Lace, andGoodIntentions. http://melissalarson57.blogspot.com/
