What a devastating disease and so sad and tragic for all it touches. This is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful child. Thanks for sharing a little of him with us here. {hugs}
Beautiful heartfelt journaling. What a wonderful way to remember him. He looks like a ray of sunshine with that huge smile. Thanks so much for sharing.
Our DGS, Tyler. This was a difficult layout for me to do. It's been almost 7 years since Tyler died...we really miss his sweet, smiling face and sunny disposition! There are really no good words to describe the loss of such a sweet child, but I tried to put my feeling into words. This picture was just so "Tyler"! Journaling is tucked behine the poem as reads:
Justin Tyler Goetter December 10, 1988 – January 10, 2001
You blessed our lives with your presence. Twelve years just wasn’t long enough. Shortly after you were born, the family was told that you had Cystic Fibrosis. We knew nothing about the disease. You were such a handsome, positive, bubbly, and outgoing little boy with the most beautiful dimples ever! You always had a good word for everyone. Even when the end was drawing near, you were the one consoling us.
Your favorite possession was the hat you are wearing in this picture. I thought it was just a “Gap” hat…but one day when I was sitting with you at the hospital (and you were stomping me in a game of Nintendo baseball) you explained to me that “GAP” actually meant God’s Awesome Power. How my heart breaks even now when I think about how much you suffered. Cystic Fibrosis is a devastating disease and I’ll never forget your struggle to breathe. Oh, how I wanted to take a deep breath for you.
Tyler, you are our angel, and we all miss you. We are comforted to know that you are no longer in pain and we know that you are resting in the arms of Jesus. We miss you Tyler but you will always be in our hearts.
I found the poem on the internet..don't know who wrote it...it reads: Child of heaven come to earth, you just could not stay. This world could not hold you and so soon you went away.
Like a rare and precious rose, your lovely soul can’t die. Budded here upon the earth, now it will bloom on high.
You are a child of heaven and will forever be. In the arms of Jesus for all eternity. ~Unknown~
