This is for Toofclnr's Imperfect Lives Challenge. This month we needed to scrapbook about something unexpected and use paint. Trying to finish more then 1 challenge with a single layout, I also did this same theme for another layout, but then wasn't satisfied with the results so created this one! This was my original sketch at the beginning of the month so now I'm happy.
The journaling attached to the big blue star is about how I found out I was pregnant because I received order to go to jump school in the USAF. At 19, I wasn't sure I was ready to be a Mom. After much discussion with friends and family, I went to talk to the base chaplin. He told me to think about how I would feel about my decision in 5 years. That did the trick and with all the support in the world, I chose not to give my son up for adoption. Since the moment my son was born, I have not wanted anything more then to be a mom. I never knew I was so suited to the greatest job in the world :o)
BTW, this is my favorite picture of my son. He has stunning eyes and a few years back, I asked him to stand in a dark room with me looking at the single lamp on our dresser. With no flash, I snapped this one off. I was beside myself when I got the film developed and saw this photo.
