A picture of my grandmother for the heritage album I am doing. I will probably replace the white ribbon with some ecru. It seems to stand out too much, esp. in this picture. Journaling reads: Born Nancy Ellen Wasson on September 23, 1881, she was known by most everyone as Ellen. She was the fifth of eight children of William and Elizabeth Wasson. The style of her dress in this picture is similar to ones from magazines of that era so she probably searched the catalogs to find the styles she wanted to copy as she made most of her own dresses. Her hair is done in a similar style to those in the magazine pictures indicating she did like to follow the fashion of her day.
