Some more shots of Minerva Terrace.

Journaling is copied from a postcard. It's a little impersonal and dry, but I still think all the scientific stuff is fascinating:

"Hot springs are an expression of the deep volcanic forces at work in Yellowstone, where hot seeping waters leave mineral deposits of great beauty and delicacy. The Minerva Terrace spring is a favorite, not only because of its wide range of bright colors but also for the ornate forms of crystallized minerals found there. Since the 1880's, when records were first kept on the activity of Mammoth hot springs, Minerva has gone through both active and inactive periods. During some cycles of activity, water discharge and mineral deposits have been so great that boardwalks have been buried beneath these new deposits."
