This is very inspiring Karen...you and your mom obviously did a wonderful job raising this amazing young man, such a touching tribute. Love that photo of Jacob and that quote is absolutely perfect for this page.
Well, this is not only a gorgeous page artistically, but the story you tell is sooooo beautiful! It brought a lump to my throat. Excellent testamant of love for this wonderful young man.
I did this one for June's Negative Space Challenge.
This is my son Jacob, he is 19 years old. Jake is actually my nephew. I helped my mom raise him from age 4. My mom passed away almost 2 years ago. At that time Jake became mine. He has been through so much in his short life. He was only 15 when my mom started her battle with cancer. The second Jake found out that his gram was sick, he went out and got his first job. He kept up his grades in school. After graduating he landed a job making almost $70,000 a year. I couldn't believe it myself, but he did. He worked the job for almost a year and decided that he wanted more out of life and figured he couldn't haul huge bottles of water forever. So he resigned from his position and started going to college. Now he flips burgers at In&Out and attends college. I'm so proud of him. He could of totally used the hard knocks in his life as an excuse to get into drugs and alcohol. But he chose a different road. I feel honored to be his mom/aunt!
