Tessie, retrieving her dumbell. She
was the first dog that I ever taught to
retrieve. That girl would do anything for a
cookie. She loved playing “get it” with her dumbell.
Anywhere, anytime, as long as there were cookies.
For those of you that are not familiar with dog sports, a dumbell is something that is retrieved by the dog to the handler's hand during an obedinece trial. Tessie never did compete in obedience (just agility), but I had a lot of fun teaching her to retrieve.
