Journaling: One of the (many!) strange things about pregnancy is figuring out how far along you are. Pregnancy weeks in the US begin with LMP. In Germany, they calculate Schwangerschaftswoche 1 week later. The actual gestational age of the baby is a bit different. And of course, weeks and months don't line up very precisely: a "normal" pregnancy is 40 weeks, but we speak in terms of 9 months.
However you calculate it, pregnancy weeks 13-16 were a great time for us because we got to see you so often! I still had morning sickness, but it was getting a little better - and watching you grow from week to week made it all worthwhile. At Week 14, we were sent for a nuchal translucency (NT) screening - you were as healthy as you could be, and we got to hear your tiny heartbeat for the very first time. But we didn't know yet if you would be a boy or a girl...
