P17: a quote from the book. When I inked the flourish from p 14 I noticed that I liked the outline it made on my scrap paper, so I re-inked it on this page to get the masked flourish on the background pp. I put a rub on over it, and the tree branch is also a rub on. The tree paper piecing is from a cuttle-kid die, as is the brown felt flower on the opposite page.
P18 is another toilet paper roll page that holds a tag. The photo is DDs playing in the school house, writing on their slates with chalk.
