Beautiful layout,I know about this firsthand,my Mother has the same thing. It is hard when you go and visit and your Mother does not know who you are.God Bless,Shirlk
Beautiful! I lost my mother to Alzheimer's in August. It is such a horrible disease. especially for the family. Your mother is so young to be going through it. I'm glad you took some comfort from making these lovely LO's.
Beautiful photo of your mom, Donna! I do understand how upsetting it is to have to see our parents go through that; so very sad. My heart goesout to you. My mom had Alzheimers; so upsetting. What a lovely layout you've created.
So sorry that yesterday was probably such a hard day for you...but I am glad you did your thearapy by scrapping....and to top it off a lo of her. All the extra journaling will be so great for keepsakes for your son and for you to go back and remember...she is so beautiful...the lo is wonderful.
Your Mum is so beautiful, gorgeous foto, very sad this al/de disease, most of the people I work with have this darn illness, and your Mum, being so young, my heart goes out to you and your family.
what a beautiful thing to do to create these memories for your son. it is true that she acquired this condition way too early in life. the photos i have of family i have little memory of are very important to me now and i am happy someone took the time to gather all the old photo's together for me.
Oh Donna, such a pretty Lo and so special for both you and your children. I can't help but feel sad for you . how lucky your children are that you have taken the time to create these memories of their grandma for them.
I work in a home for dementia pateints as a recreational therapist so I can understand how difficult life can seem, but I think you have the right attitude by doing something that is therapuetic for you and at the same time honouring the wonderful memories you treasure about your mum. You have created a beautiful layout of a beautiful lady. Well done!
She is beautiful, and although your kids don't really know her the way she was, they will treasure your memories and this album you have created. Dementia is such a hard thing and so sad that it has affected her so young. I'm sure if she could, she would appreciate all you have tried to do for her and scrapbooking is the perfect therapy! Thinking of you! xx
She is a beautiful woman! Alzheimer's is a heartless disease - leaves us with nothing that we remember of our loved ones. My heart goes out to you, but I am so happy that you were able to make this beautiful layout - I have tears as I type this note.
This LO is for my ds album, it is about my mom. She is still living but was taken from us much too early by the dementia. She has been in a home for dementia and Alzheimer's patients for 3 years. Yesterday was her 62 birthday but there really wasn't anything I could do for her or give her now, she is in the final stages. So I did what I do, I scrapbooked. I this LO for my son with several pages of journaling beneath the picture, just about things I remeber about her, what made her so special to me. Things my children will never know first hand. I hope to eventually do a page for my dd too but it will be even harder since she will have absolutely no memory of her and I only have 2 pictures of them together, taken shortly after her birth. Anyways, this was a therapuetic LO for me, I felt good about doing it for my son. Thank you for looking.
