I didn't realize this was a model violin until I read your journaling - I am super-impressed! Love the masking and laughed at your comment that We "strikethrough" She got an A+!
I'm super impressed! I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate all the techniques onto a single page, and it's driving me nuts. You seem to have accomplished it effortlessly with BEAUTIFUL results! Great job. Tremendous photos.
What a great LO! Love the way you carried the music theme throughout.I couldn't possibly keep all those challenges straight! I'm trying for just 2 on 1 page. LOL!
wow you made the violin - how cool! I love the masking of the music notes on this too! This layout is very striking and I love it partially because I once played the beautiful violin!
Wow, what a project you both did!! You both must have been so proud - that sounds like a lot of work! Love your lo - especially the masked music notes in the corner!
This is gorgeous. Love all the techniques. The masking is superb. You know when I read that double twisted challenge, the first thing I thought was, "Oh, Lisa will do that," lol. I couldn't figure out how to get all that stuff in there but I knew you would. And to boot, you did it all so interestingly and beautifully. That is SOME 4th grade project. You are a very involved parent, hee! Wonderful work here.
This is for Estee's Week Long Challenge to scrap an object. I used shots of a model violin that dd and I made for her music report at school when she was in 4th grade.
Journaling says: Cassie had to give a presentation on the violin for music class. I helped. Our model violin was to scale and even had a soundpost. We also burned a CD with examples of violin music from classical to bluegrass. We(struckthrough) She got an A+.
Also for the Monthly Sketch Challenge Week 1 -- I did the twist to use 5+ distressing techniques. I have painting, masking, tearing, inking, distressed stitching, and edge distressing (photo mats).
This is also for the Use Your Supplies Challenge - but I'm not sure which week yet :) I did the double twist to include all 4 weeks' requirements here, and I did all 4 twists as well. So -- I have to see which week I need it for after I start the other 3 LO's. :)
Week 1 ~ Rub-ons: We had to use 5+ rub-ons, and the twist was to use from at least 2 different packages. I have - 1. flourish (American Crafts) 2. title letters (Scrapworks) 3-5. treble clef & 2 butterflies (Creative Imaginations)
Week 2 ~ Stamps: We had to use 2 different stamps, and the twist was to do something more than just ink on paper. I have - 1. date 2. the circles were stamped on music pp and heat embossed then cut out for the twist.
Week 3 ~ Paint: We had to use 3 different paints, and the twist was to mask with paint. I used a couple shades of brown watercolors (the same ones we used to paint the violin) to paint the bg and green for the edge. I used a thin layer of white acrylic paint to mask the music staff in the upper right corner.
Week 4 ~ Ribbon/Fiber/Thread: We had to use 2 of the three, and the twist was to use 2 each of the 2 types. I used the green and brown ribbons and green and brown thread.
